YMCA Soldiers Mission creates home for soldiers in the Danish defence and allied forces and has done so for over 120 years. The basic idea is that when soldiers are deployed, there must also be a home for the soldiers. At the moment there are 15 homes in Denmark and 2 in Afghanistan (Camp Bastion and MOB Price).
Values and overall purpose
• YMCA Soldiers Mission will be close to the soldiers in Denmark and abroad as many places as possible. This gives the contact to the individual soldier, wherever it is.• YMCA Soldiers Mission is taking care of the individual soldier's safety and security by showing care for the whole human being.
• YMCA Mission Soldiers receive all soldiers respectfully regardless of gender, age, rank, ethnic or religious beliefs start.
A second home
| YMCA Soldiers Home functions as soldier's second home. This is particularly true for the young soldiers who live in barracks. It is the place where you drop in to get a cup of coffee and a chat. YMCA Soldiers Home follows the army and air force personnel, both within the country and on foreign missions. Thereby generating valued home for soldiers. In 2009 more than 850,000 people visited the 16 soldier’s home. The YMCA soldiers home can be quite difference. Never the less all the soldiers come here. |

Finance and donation
Overall, the country an organization's operating budget of 21 million DKK. 4½ million DKK received by the defence welfare pool. 8½ million DKK earned on sales, etc. 8 million DKK from quotas, voluntary contributions, lottery revenues and profits from 13 second hand stores.In other words: YMCA Soldiers Home are dependent on support from individual donors.
